Conference of Catholic Youth Leaders
Gambia

In April 2025, following twenty-eight years of CCLK Gambia's existence, our founder created the CCLK Networking, designed, developed and fund the website, and proposed the Vision 2030 project. This enables young Catholics to review and improve them, initiate and advance a Conference of Catholic Youth Leaders, where young Senegalese and Gambians living in the United States, Senegal, and Gambia identify problems and solutions of their own development and their communities. College and university graduates with at least a 4-year degree, experienced entrepreneurs, and employees of reputable organizations can be facilitated to develop and implement practical and effective solutions to problems of their own development and of the wider community

Our Vision 2030 project follows the transformation from one generation of organization to another, beginning with our ancestors in the late 1930s (the early Christian volunteers - among the creators was our founder's grandfather). In 1985 St. John the Baptist Prayer Group was created by our founder's father, then in 1997 the Christian Community of Latrikunda CCLK Gambia and in 2025 CCLK Networking were founded by their own descendant (grandson and son, our founder). Gambia is considered one of our three main regions consisting of the United States, Senegal, and Gambia. Like the US and Senegal, Gambia can produce various subregions, including our current organization (CCLK Gambia). Other subregions can be located across the Greater Banjul part of their Diocese.

The committee, comprising some of the most influential and widely recognized professionals in Gambia has been supportive and consistent in their leadership, guiding us through major decisions, such as the idea of getting our own schools, planning projects, accountability and transparency, and working with sponsors and partners.

Marie Jarje, former coordinator of our Gambian children volunteers (first cousin of our founder) found sponsors who built these new classrooms, from grades one to six.
