Cecilia, one of the children who actively participated in the children volunteering group in Gambia, is in her first year in college, in the United States, pursuing a bachelor's degree in Healthcare. She was inducted to the United States National Honors Society of High School Scholars for her academic performance and community service leadership accomplishments. In the prior year 2020, in her eighth grade, she received the Wake County Board of Education Spotlight Award for Most Outstanding Student in her middle school. Among the five hundred students in the school, she was selected by the committee of teachers, nominating her based on the district's requirements for academic, character, service, and leadership excellence. A Challenge and Leaders Coach - at St. Michael's Church, in the Diocese of Raleigh, in the State's capital, Cecilia progressed from teaching Holy Communion classes to being a Challenge and Leaders Coach (trainer) for high schoolers, in a large parish community. Her coaching role came after she attended two years of the coaching classes. Cecilia was also assisting her middle and high schools volleyball coaches with various team activities.
